Hi, could you please tell me how many grams of butter there are in half a cup or a cup of butter. I often find recipes asking for half a cup of butter and find it hard to measure. Many thanks, Simone

If you are in the US then half a cup of butter is the equivalent to one stick, or 8 tablespoons. Most butter is sold in 1 pound boxes and the boxes are split into 4 equal sticks, each weighing 4 ounces, or 115g. as they are conveniently portioned you should not need to put the butter into a cup to measure and most sticks have tablespoon measures marked out so that you can just cut off the correct number of tablespoons.
Here re some weights which may help.
1 tablespoon = 15g
1/2 cup = 115g
1 cup = 230g
