Cocktail Pumpernickel Rounds

Full question
Hi, I have a Christmas dinner party coming up and I'd love to make the Crostini with Avocado and Green Pea Hummus featured in Nigella Express (p201). However in the U.K. I can't seem to find the pumpernickel rounds she mentions. The ones used look more like a crunchy biscuit or cracker than a soft bread. I travel a lot and I'm in the U.S.A. often, so I'd love to know which brand they are or where can I find them if they are not easliy available in the UK.
Our answer
The easiest brand of cocktail pumpernickel rounds to find is Delba. Their little circles of pumpernickel come in 250g packages and contain about 30 pieces. We have suggested some on-line suppliers below or you may be able to find then in good delis in both the UK and the US. However you can also serve the Avocado and Green Pea Hummus on thin slices of French bread or cut your own rounds from slices of regular pumpernickel bread - either trim the edges and cut each slice into 4 or use a small round cutter (approx 4cm/1 1/2-inch diameter) for a slightly fancier finish.
If you are in the US regularly then blue corn tortila chips would also make a good vessel for the hummus, but don't spoon the hummus on too early as the tortilla chops will soften if left standing for too long.

We have been unable to find an on-line supplier but the pumpernickel rounds are imported to Australia by Menora Foods so please contact them for stockists.
