Where can I buy mostarda di cremona?
Posted by Snowstorm. Answered on 7th Jan 2013 at 12.00
Mostarda di cremona is an Italian condiment made from preserved (candied) fruits. The syrup that the fruit is cooked and stored in has mustard added to it so the mostarda has sweetness but also a spicy kick. It is traditionally served with bollito misto (boiled meats) and is now popular as an accompaniment to cheese and cured meats.
An Italian deli is the best place to try and find mostarda and you can also buy it on-line in the UK from the websites Nife Is Life and Limoncello. We have also seen jars of mostarda in some branches of Waitrose (in the pickles and chutneys section), though availability may vary by area.
