In the recipe for Slow Cooker Lamb And Pasta the ingredients include redcurrant jelly. Is there anything could I use instead? Thanks.

Nigella's Slow-Cooker Lamb And Pasta (on the Nigella website) is a one-pot dish that is very easy to make - the minced (ground) lamb and sauce are cooked with the pasta, all at the same time. The ingredients include redcurrant jelly which is a traditional accompaniment to lamb in the UK and adds a little sweetness and fruitiness to the sauce, ofsetting any acidity that you may get from the tinned (canned) tomatoes.
Redcurrant jelly is found in many supermarkets. However if you can't find it then you could use cranberry sauce or jelly instead, or damson jelly if that is available. In the US Concord grape jelly would also be a possible alternative. If none of these are available then you could add a tablespoon of sugar instead of the jelly. Just before serving the dish taste it and add a pinch or two extra of sugar if you feel that it is required.
