Triple Chocolate Brownies

Asked by cabennett2. Answered on 3rd March 2015

Full question

In her recipe for Triple Chocolate Brownies Nigella says to use 3 sticks of butter? What does that mean?

Our answer

Nigella developed a Triple Chocolate Brownie recipe for a US TV food special programme. Unfortunately the recipe was specifically for the US and is not available on Nigella's website. The ingredient quantities are given in US measurements. A stick of butter is a fairly common measurement in the US, butter is sold in pre-wrapped "sticks", each weighing 1/4 pound or 115g. One stick is also equal to 8 tablespoons or 1/2 cup butter.
