Ice Cream Containers

Asked by suzi. Answered on 30th September 2013

Full question

Where can I buy the containers used by Nigella for the No-Churn Coffee Ice Cream? Thank you

Our answer

The containers used by Nigella for the No-Churn Coffee Ice Cream on her TV show Nigellissima are actually paper containers which can be disposed of, or put into recycling, after use. The more common description for the contaners is paper soup cups. Nigella uses containers that are approximately 500ml/16 ounces.

It can be slightly difficult to find the contaners in anything but catering quantities, but you may be able to get together with friends and split a larger order. In the UK you could try R+R Packaging or Catering 4 U for the containers.

In the US you can find the containers on-line, though again in large quantities. Alternatively you can buy 1 quart or 1 pint takeout containers made out of plastic which can be re-used several times. These are available in smaller quantities on Amazon.
