Our answer

Nigella's Honey Cake (from Feast and on the Nigella website) is a moist cake that can be served as a dessert or as an afternoon tea or morning coffee cake. If serving it as a dessert then you can serve the cake with a butterscotch sauce.

To make the sauce, put 3 tablespoons soft light brown sugar and 2 tablespoons of white granulated sugar in a medium-sized saucepan with 50g (3 tablespoons) of usnalted butter, 150ml (2/3 cup) golden syrup. Put over a medium heat and heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a boil. Lower the heat slightly and let the mixture bubble away for 5 minutes then carefully add and 125ml double cream (1/2 cup heavy or whipping cream). Stir until smooth and combined and serve warm. The sauce can be made up to 1 week ahead. Store in the fridge and reheat gently in a saucepan over a low heat before serving.
