When I was young, I did some playing around with a slow-cooker, but I suppose because I work at home, and so can fiddle about with low ovens, I haven't used one for decades. Or rather, I hadn't. I bought myself one as a present, and have been trying to get to grips with it - and very pleasurable research it is, too.
Now, bonkers as it sounds, my first recipe using it for you is a slowed down version of one of my very fast recipes. This is the thing: I find that a recipe that can be made quickly and easily makes my life simpler; but sometimes, I find a very hands-off, slow and low method even more liberating. So, depending on what you need for your particular day, you can go for my Pappardelle with Lamb Ragu or my Slow-Cooker Lamb and Pasta.
