INTRODUCTION

This chocolate cake is my ultimate chocolate cake; all of my birthdays for as long as I can remember, my mother made me this. And the orange adds a little something extra "je ne sais quoi" ...
METHOD

1.Batter: Mix eggs and sugar fluffy, add melted butter, milk and zest. Then sift in the dry ingredients.
2.Amounts fit in a 18 or 20 cm spring form.
3.In oven for about 40 minutes, or until cake tester comes out clean, 180 degrees Celsius (approx. 350F)
4.When cake is done and cooled, divide in two horizontally (use a bread knife or so) and put nearly half of the filling on the bottom half. Put on the other half and smear the rest of the filling on top and the sides.
5.(If you think its difficult to divide the cake, feel free to bake it in two separate tins instead.)
6.A little piece of heaven.

REVIEWS

This cake is lovely and, the icing especially, smells so orangey! It doesn't last though—I made it for my boyfriend's birthday and we ate it in three days between the two of us.

I believe that the egg white can easily be replaced for a yolk, in the glaze. Ásgrímur
