Chocolate Gems Cake

Here is a simle recipe for a mouthwattering chocolate cake coverd with gems . Decorate as you like

Ingredients

For the base:

  • 250g plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/3 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 3 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g butter or 3 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 packet chocolate buttons or gems
  •  

    For icing :

  • 50 gms icing sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 3-4 tablespoon milk
  • 1 bar melted choclate
  • 1 packet white chocolate buttons or colorful gems
  • Method

    For the base

    1. First mix the sugar, butter (or vegetable oil) and eggs to form a fluffy mixture
    2. In a bowl mix in the flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon powder, baking soda and bicarb.
    3. Now fold in the dry ingredients into the wet ones and add honey. Beat the mixture well to avoid lumps.
    4. Now add the chocolate buttons and mix it.
    5. Line the baking tray and put the cake mixture in preheated oven at 200'C for about 10-15 mins.

    For Icing :

    1. Melt the chocolate and add in sugar and cocoa powder to it.
    2. Cover the whole cake with this chocolate icing.
    3. Decorate with white chocolate buttons or sugar coated colored chocolate gems.
