What does this mean?

I wanted a good helping of french toast one morning (several now) and this is how I made it - simple, rich and delectable. I always cook this over a gas cooker instead of the electric stove.

Ingredients

  • 1 slice wholemeal sourdough bread (authentic, a thick slice)
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1 egg (free range)
  • 2 teaspoons rapadura sugar
  • honey (or maple syrup, good quality)

Method

  1. Lightly whisk egg in a bowl until yolk and white are evenly combined.
  2. Soak the slice of sourdough bread in the egg (a few minutes per side).
  3. Place small frying pan on a med-low heat and melt butter over the surface.
  4. Drop the egg soaked bread into the pan and cook gently for about 2 minutes a side.
  5. Cover the toasted bread in sugar and drizzle with honey.
  6. Enjoy, slowly, deliciously!
