What does this mean?

I found this recipe in an old magazine today, I believe "Affagato" in Italian means "I am drowning". Well its just about serving coffee and dessert together instead of serving them separately.

Ingredients

Switch to Cup Measures
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee
  • 750 ml water (depends on how strong you like it and how many people you serve)
  • cocoa powder (to dust)
  • 6 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 1 shot brandy (or rum)

Method

  1. Dissolve the instant coffee in hot water to make the mock espresso, add a shot of brandy or rum to it.
  2. Place a scoop of vanilla ice-cream in a coffee cup or any fancy glass (in the magazine it was served in a large Martini glass).
  3. Pour the mock espresso over this, and sprinkle some cocoa powder or chocolate shavings on and serve immediately.
