What does this mean?

I have tried to make tablet before and it has never worked until my colleague gave me this recipe.

Ingredients

Switch to Cup Measures
  • 0.91 kilograms granulated sugar
  • 397 grams condensed milk Or 1 tin
  • 113 grams unsalted butter
  • 0.12 litres milk
  • 1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract

Method

  1. Put all ingredients into big pot except vanilla extract .
  2. Simmer for 45mins-1 hour.
  3. Stir now and again.
  4. Boil for few mins.
  5. Add vanilla extract.
  6. Take off heat.
  7. Using electric whisk, beat until thicker (this takes about 5mins or so). Pour into brownie type tray until set.
  8. Set in hour or so - cut into squares.
