What does this mean?

Ingredients

  • 8 oz butter
  • 8 oz superfine sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon almond essence
  • 8 oz all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 oz almond meal
  • slivered almonds (for the top)

Method

  1. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Then add all other ingredients and fold in. Cover with slivered almonds and cook in a cool oven for about an hour.
