What does this mean?

I have just thought of doing this on Saturday as a starter.

Ingredients

  • 4 large flat mushrooms
  • 1 knob of butter
  • 2 small finely chopped shallots
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 6 rashers bacon (cut into strips)
  • 3 oz mature Cheddar

Method

  1. Melt the butter and cook the mushrooms on both sides until cooked through.
  2. Remove, drain and keep warm.
  3. Sweat the onion and garlic for a couple of minutes until soft.
  4. Add the bacon and fry until crispy. Arrange the mushrooms on a baking sheet and top with the bacon mixture.
  5. Top with the cheese and grill until golden brown. Serve with crusty brown bread.
