What does this mean?

In Brazil there is no children's party without a chocolate caramel candy called Brigadeiro. Here in the United States every time I make them, they are a big hit. Everybody seems to love it.

Ingredients

Switch to Cup Measures
  • 2 tins condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 250 grams chocolate sprinkles

Method

  1. In a medium saucepan mix the condensed milk, cocoa powder and milk. Over low heat cook, stirring, until thickened, and you can start seeing the bottom of the pan.
  2. It will take around 10 minutes. Remove from heat, add the butter and vanilla extract.
  3. Turn the batter onto a greased plate, and let it rest until cool enough to handle. You can cover with a plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerated overnight. Form into small balls and cover with chocolate sprinkles. Serve in small paper cup holders. They are delicious!
  4. This recipe will give you around 120 brigadeiros. If kept in the refrigerator they will be fine for a good week!
