Chocolate Fudge Cake

Introduction

The most delicous Chocolate Cake you could eat, and its so easy!!!

Ingredients

Serves: 8

For the Cake

  • 6 ounces soft brown sugar
  • 6 ounces margarine
  • 3 eggs (1 duck if available)
  • 5 ounces self-rising flour
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa
  • 5 tablespoons drinking chocolate
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons milk

For the Fudge Icing

  • 113 butter
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 397 confectioners' sugar
  • 28 unsweetened cocoa

Method

Chocolate Fudge Cake is a community recipe submitted by triona and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Beat all the ingredients for cake together in bowl for a few minutes.
  • Grease and flour a ring tin. Place mixture in tin and bake for 25 - 30 minutes at 170c Fan oven
  • ICING: Place butter and milk in saucepan and bring to boil. Sieve unsweetened cocoa and confectioners' sugar, add cooled milk, whisk until smooth. Allow to cool
  • Cover cake with icing. Fill centre with cream ( I put Bailey's in my whipped cream) and decorate with Maltesers or drizzle some icing over cream.
  • Additional Information

    I often fill the centre with the Maltesers and then top with cream, and they are a lovely surprise when the cake is cut, to find Maltesers hiding in the cream!
