Chocolate Sauce Pudding

Metric Cups
  • 375 millilitres self-raising flour
  • 30 millilitres cocoa
  • 125 millilitres caster sugar
  • 200 millilitres milk
  • 50 grams butter
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 10 millilitres vanilla essence
  • 100 grams dark chocolate (grated)
  • 60 millilitres brown sugar
  • 500 millilitres boiling water
  • 13 fluid ounces self-rising flour
  • 1 fluid ounce unsweetened cocoa
  • 4 fluid ounces superfine sugar
  • 7 fluid ounces milk
  • 1¾ ounces butter
  • 2 medium eggs
  • fluid ounce vanilla essence
  • 3½ ounces bittersweet chocolate (grated)
  • 2 fluid ounces brown sugar
  • 18 fluid ounces boiling water

Method

  • Set the oven to 160oC.
  • Sift together the flour, cocoa and castor sugar.
  • Into the milk, add the eggs and vanilla essence, whipping lightly with a fork.
  • Melt the butter and add the milk mixture. Mix this into dry ingredients carefully but thoroughly.
  • Pour into a medium sized baking dish.
  • Mix together the grated chocolate and brown sugar, then sprinkle over the top of the pudding mixture. Carefully pour over the boiling water and bake for approx 45 minutes. Serve warm with thick cream.
