I made this up for nights when I am time poor. This works well with good shop bought pesto. For variations try it with a few cups of cooked chicken or use gnocchi in place of the penne.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves crushed garlic
- ½ cup dry white wine
- 18 oz penne pasta
- ¼ cup pesto
- 11 fl oz cream
- 2 oz toasted pinenuts
Method
- Cook penne in salted water until cooked to al dente. Drain well.
- Meanwhile, heat the oil with the garlic on a gentle heat in a large saucepan. Stir gently and cook until fragrant. Add the wine, pesto, cream and pine nuts. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer and simmer for three minutes.
- Add the pasta to the sauce, stir well and serve, garnished with basil if preferred.
