Ingredients
- 1 ½ lb stewing beef
- 3 lb sliced onions
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 salt
- 1 pepper
- 1 cup vinegar
- vegetable oil (for frying)
Method
- Fry beef until brown, place in ovenproof dish
- Fry sliced onions in same pan , spread over the beef
- Add rest of ingredients and a little water, another wineglass should do it
- Cover with foil
- Cook at 170c for 3-4 hours! Some people add a little tomato puree and use red wine instead of the vinegar
