EASY CHILLI CON CARNE

Rich mexican dish that mixes beans and ground beef

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup bacon cubes
  • 1 can peeled tomatoes
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, sliced
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • ground chilli pepper to taste (about 1/2 tsp if you do not like it too spicy)
  • salt to taste

Method

  1. Brown the bacon cubes
  2. Add chopped onion and sliced garlic, and cook until they dehydrate, but do not let them brown
  3. Add the ground beef, and mix with a fork until it is cooked, separating the grains
  4. Add the canned tomatoes, let it simmer for about 5 minutes
  5. Add the beans and the seasonings - ground chilli and salt
  6. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes
  7. Goes well with white rice
