Ingredients

Serves: 30

Metric Cups
  • 350 grams cake flour
  • 100 grams custard powder
  • 100 grams icing sugar
  • 1 millilitre salt
  • 300 grams butter (soft)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 12⅜ ounces cake flour
  • 3½ ounces custard powder
  • 3½ ounces confectioners' sugar
  • fluid ounce salt
  • 10⅗ ounces butter (soft)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Method

  • Set oven to 180°C.
  • Sieve flour, custard powder, icing sugar and salt into a mixing bowl. Rub the butter in with your fingers. Work together until a smooth dough is formed.
  • Add vanilla essence.
  • Sprinkle flour onto a clean surface and roll out the dough.
  • Cut shapes using a cookie cutter.
  • Arrange biscuits on a greased baking tray and bake for 15 minutes or until golden in colour.
  • Set oven to 180°C.
