What does this mean?

An exquisite strawberry meringue dessert with whipped cream and freshly grated coconut.

Ingredients

Switch to Cup Measures
  • 2 large meringue nests (25cm wide and 2cm thick each)
  • 400 grams strawberries (fresh, without stems, thinly sliced)
  • 600 grams strawberries (fresh, without stems, whole - to deorate)
  • 500 ml whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 500 ml coconut (freshly grated)

Method

  1. Beat whipping cream until stiff peaks are formed, then slightly fold in the sugar. 
  2. In a bowl, mix the sliced strawberries into 1/3 of the whipped cream. Separate. 
  3. To assemble the dessert, layer in a dessert flat serving platter one meringue round, then top with the strawberry mixture. Repeat this procedure. 
  4. Cover the dessert all around with the 2/3 remainder of the whipped cream and top it off with the grated coconut. 
  5. Decorate with whole strawberries all around the edges. If desired, place on top 2 whole strawberries (with stems), sliced into a fan shape. Bon appetite!
