Metric Cups
  • 185 grams flour
  • 80 grams butter
  • 40 grams sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • water
  • salt
  • 250 grams plain chocolate (bitter)
  • 185 grams unsalted butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 40 grams sugar
  • 7 ounces flour
  • 3 ounces butter
  • 1 ounce sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • water
  • salt
  • 9 ounces plain chocolate (bitter)
  • 7 ounces unsalted butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 ounce sugar

Method

Rich Chocolate Mousse Tart is a community recipe submitted by Shyvas and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Make pastry in usual way, place in fridge for 1 hour to rest.
  • Melt chocolate and butter in the microwave on "defrost".
  • Mix eggs, yolks and sugar in mixing bowl and whisk until the mixture doubles n volume.
  • Line the tart tin with the rolled out pastry and cook for about 15 mins until cooked. 150°c fan or 170°c
  • Quickly stir in the melted chocolate + butter. Pour the filling into the tart tin lined with pastry.
  • Bake for a further 12 mins or until the filling has risen and is just firm to the touch. Allow to cool completely.
