Introduction

These were influenced by Rachel Allen and a thread from CAL so I can't claim all the credit but I can spread the word (and my recipe lol!)

Ingredients

Serves: 2

  • 2 pitta breads (cut into small triangles)
  • 1 tablespoon cumin seeds (whole, toasted and ground in a mortar and pestle)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic infused olive oil
  • 2 grams rapeseed oil
  • black pepper (lots, freshly cracked - in the mortar and pestle gives the best flavour)
  • Maldon sea salt flakes

Method

Spiced Pitta Wedges is a community recipe submitted by OCDcook273 and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Preheat oven to 220 degrees C
  • Toss all the ingredients together, over and over again until every inch of pitta is covered with oily spices
  • Bake in a single layer on a nonstick baking sheet/tray
  • Bake for 5 minutes and eat with joy in your heart!
  • Additional Information

You could put whatever spice you fancy onto these babies, make them suit your mood or whatever you're eating them with - I wouldn't turn them down on their own though! And I would not normally eat a shop bought tortilla chip... :)
