Metric Cups
  • sauerkraut (if you can get the seasoned one that's great!)
  • potatoes (for mash)
  • pineapple chunks (little cubes)
  • 200 millilitres creme fraiche (about)
  • pickled red paprika
  • bacon lardons

  • 7 fluid ounces creme fraiche (about)

Method

Sweet and Sauerkraut is a community recipe submitted by lionheart and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Just peel potatoes and bring them together with the sauerkraut and some salt to the boil.
  • Meanwhile fry the bacon in a hot pan (no oil or butter needed) When the potatoes are soft, turn off the heat and drain the water.
  • Add creme fraiche (and some butter) and stir like hell to get a mashy and creamy potatoe/sauerkraut mix.
  • Then just add the paprika, pineapple, bacon (including the fat out of the pan) and some pepper, that's it!
