Ingredients

Serves: 2

Metric Cups
  • 250 millilitres rice
  • 600 millilitres water (boiling)
  • 10 millilitres butter (or margarine)
  • 2½ millilitres salt
  • 5 millilitres turmeric
  • 10 millilitres honey
  • 200 millilitres raisins (seedless)
  • 9 fluid ounces rice
  • 21 fluid ounces water (boiling)
  • fluid ounce butter (or margarine)
  • fluid ounce salt
  • fluid ounce turmeric
  • fluid ounce honey
  • 7 fluid ounces raisins (seedless)

Method

  • Combine the rice, water, turmeric and salt in a 2-3 litre dish.
  • Cover with clingwrap, pierce, and cook on High for 10 mins.
  • Stir in the raisins and cook on High for another 5 mins.
  • Tip into a sieve and rinse in cold running water.
  • Return the rice to a clean dish, stir in the butter and honey and reheat on High for 5 mins, stirring once
  • When cooking in pot, stir in butter at end and leave lid on for 5 min to absorb
