Our answer

Nigella's Spruced-Up Vanilla Cake (from NIGELLA CHRISTMAS) is a damp bundt cake that has a fairly liquid batter. Nigella uses natural (plain) fat-free (non-fat) yogurt as the acidity of the yogurt balances the richness of the cake and also gives it a tender crumb. Buttermilk could be used as an alternative.

Fat-free yogurt contains less than 0.5% fat, whereas regular full-fat (whole milk) yogurt contains 3.8% fat. However, given the amount of yogurt used in the cake, the overall difference in the amount of fat is probably not going to be enough to really affect the cake. So we suspect that using regular yogurt is fine.
