Hi, I've been wanting to make the Mini Lime Syrup Sponges from Domestic Goddess for ages but can't find this tin in any shops or online. Do you know where I can get one of these? Thanks!
Hello, In How to Be a Domestic Goddess, there's a recipe for Mini lime loaves, and in the picture there's a tin with mini-loaf-shaped indentations. I haven't been able to find one like this - I've found individual mini loaf tins, and silicone ones, but not a tin like this. Could you tell me where it comes from? many thanks!
In the UK you can buy a mini loaf pan made by Baker's Secret and available on-line at World Kitchen (UK):
The next closest product in the UK is the Wilton Petite Loaf Pan which has 9 loaf shapes in it. It is available from Jane Asher at the web site below. They also have a pan with 6 slightly larger loaf-shaped cavities. You can also buy paper liners for the petite version from this website - perfect if you are thinking of making the Mini Lime Syrup Sponges to give as gifts, or for a school bake sale. As the cavities in this tin may be slightly smaller than the ones in Nigella's recipe we suggest you check to see if the cakes are cooked about 3 minutes earlier than the timing in the original recipe.
In the US you can buy the same pans direct from Wilton's own website
Also in the US Baker's Secret make an 8-cavity mini loaf pan. You may find it in kitchenware stores or baking supplies stores and in some supermarkets. Also try the web site below.
