Introduction

A delicious hors d'oeuvre, combining the sweetness of a ripe fig, the saltiness of proscuitto, and the creaminess of gorgonzola cheese (or brie, blue, or whatever you prefer!)

A delicious hors d'oeuvre, combining the sweetness of a ripe fig, the saltiness of proscuitto, and the creaminess of gorgonzola cheese (or brie, blue, or whatever you prefer!)

Ingredients

Serves: however many figs

Metric Cups
  • fresh figs
  • gorgonzola cheese (or blue)
  • prosciutto
  • fresh figs
  • gorgonzola cheese (or blue)

Method

Figs in Proscuitto is a community recipe submitted by Sous Jo and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Slice off the stem of each fig, and cut in half, lengthwise.
  • Place about a half teaspoon (or more) of cheese on the cut side of each fig half.
  • Wrap in a slice of prosciutto - you may not need the full slice, depending on size and your love of prosciutto! Secure with a toothpick.
  • Place under broiler, or on the bbq (sliced side up), and heat until cheese softens, approx. 2-3 minutes. Enjoy!
