Nigella's Lasagne Of Love (from COOK, EAT, REPEAT) contains layers of pasta, béchamel and a beef ragù sauce.

The ragù is made in by braising minced (ground) beef in a tomato-based sauce. The sauce is flavoured with thyme and bay. If you don't have fresh bay leaves then you can use dried bay leaves. Normally you would use less of a dried herb than a frrsh one, but for this sauce the bay leaves simly infuse flavour, so we suggest using 3 dried bay leaves are removing them once the ragù has cooked.
