Can I Use Vodka In The Tequila And Lime Chicken Marinade?

Nigella's Tequila and Lime Chicken (from SIMPLY NIGELLA) marinates chicken in a chilli, lime and tequila mixture. The marinade flavours and seasons the chicken and when the chicken is roasted it is moist and tender.

Main brands of tequila blanco don't have a particularly distinctive flavour (though the aged tequilas are very different). The tequila does however help to carry the other flavours of the marinade into the meat. We suspect it would be possible to use vodka if you don't have tequila to hand, though it will be Vodka Lime Chicken instead. It may taste slightly different, but will probably be delicious in its own right.
