Our answer

Nigella's Chicken In A Pot With Lemon And Orzo is at its best when freshly cooked and we would not particularly recommend making the dish in advance and reheating it with the whole chicken. However, if you have leftovers then these should be refrigerated as quickly as possible and within 2 hours of cooking. The leftovers will keep for up to 3 days in the fridge or can be frozen for up to 3 months in an airtight container.

Leftovers would make a good pasta salad for a lunchbox, adding a spritz or two of lemon juice to loosen the mixture and lift the flavours. If you want to reheat the leftovers then transfer them into a saucepan and add a splash of water to help to loosen the mixture. Reheat over a medium heat, stirring regularly and adding extra water as necessary, until piping hot all of the way through. If you have frozen the leftovers then thaw them overnight in the fridge before reheating as described.
