Our answer

Nigella's One Pan Sage And Onion Chicken And Sausage (from FEAST) is an easy one-pan dish that has marinated chicken cooked alongside sausages. It has the traditional sage and onon flavours of a Sunday roast chicken, made more piquant with the addition of mustard and Worcestershire sauce.

The recipe uses English mustard and this means the type of mustard already mixed, from a jar or tube. This is much easier to find for most people than the mustard powder. Normally the default is the ready mixed type of English mustard and we state "mustard powder" if that is to be used. If you are using mustard powder then you should mix one teaspoon of the powder with one teaspoon of cold water for the equivalent amount. However, bear in mind that mustard made from powder tends to be slightly stronger than mustard from a jar. So if you prefer less heat then you may want to slightly reduce the amount of mustard used in the marinade if you mix it up yourself from powder.
