  • Totally Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies

    Hi there! I would like to know how far ahead can I freeze the batter of the Totally Chocolate Chip Cookies. And should I bake them from frozen or should I let them defrost at room temperature first? Thank you!

    From the nigella team:

    Nigella's Totally Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies (from Nigella Express and on the Nigella website) can be made and formed and then frozen before they are baked. To do this, scoop mounds of the cookie dough onto baking sheets that have been lined with baking parchment. Put the baking sheets in the freezer and freeze until the cookies are solid, then transfer them to a resealable bag or airtight box. They will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months.

    The cookies can be baked direct from frozen but usually take 2 to 3 minutes longer to bake. We suggest baking them for 20 minutes then test them with a cocktail stick (toothpick), which should come out semi-clean and not with uncooked dough on it. if they are not quite cooked then bake the cookies for a further 2 minutes and test again.
