  • Freezing Nutella Cheescake

    Absolutely love the Nutella Cheescake! Unbelievably I have some left and as I am watching my weight I am trying to limit my treats, so can the cheesecake be frozen?

    From the nigella team:

    Nigella's Nutella Cheesecake (from Nigellissima and on the Nigella website) filling is made from a combination of cream cheese and Nutella (or a similar chocolate hazelnut spread). It is a mix and chill form of cheeseake rather that a baked cheesecake. Unfortunately the manufacturers do not recommend freezing Nutella as it can affect the texture and we also wonder if the ingredients can separate slightly as it thaws.

    This could affect the texture and consistency of the chesecake so we would prefer not to freeze the cheesecake for a special occasion. However if you are not concerned about some changes in the texture then you could try freezing individual portions of leftovers. Thaw the portions in the fridge overnight, or you may find that they have a slightly better texture when they are still slightly frozen.
