Well, I'm back from my North American book tour for Nigellissima, and although it's been only two weeks, I really feel I've been away for months. That's partly because each day was so long. But although it was exhausting, I had a lot of fun, and have made new friends and new memories - which is, after all, the point of life. Oh - and then there's the food. I know once you see the pics of my culinary highlights below you might wonder how I managed to squeeze myself on the plane to get back home, but the sad truth is there are precious few eating opportunities when on the road, and I'm not so sure that over the two weeks I ate much more than I'm showing you here. So here goes:

New York: Tuna tartare tacos

LA: crab and avocado salad with charmingly retro crisps/chips

San Francisco: pile of shoestring fries

Toronto: Zeppole and cannoli

Chicago: Whoopskidawg and curly fries

Milwaukee: Cornflake-crusted french toast with maple syrup

Miami: Breakfast Burrito
Much as I love eating new things, there's nothing like coming back to home food....
