Metric Cups
  • 300 grams dates (roughly chopped)
  • 250 millilitres self-raising flour
  • 188 millilitres butter
  • 188 millilitres soft light brown sugar
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 188 millilitres water
  • 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 250 millilitres ground almonds
  • 125 millilitres chopped nuts
  • 11 ounces dates (roughly chopped)
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • ¾ cup butter
  • ¾ cup soft light brown sugar
  • 2 medium eggs
  • ¾ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup almond meal
  • ½ cup chopped nuts

  • Beat the butter and sugar in a bowl.
  • Then add the eggs and beat till light and fluffy.
  • Add the flour and stir.

  • Add the rest of the ingredients and mix with a spoon until light. Pour the batter into a lined muffin tin and bake for about 18 minutes, until they have risen and are firm.
