Baked Macaroni and Cheese (With Yoghurt)

Metric Cups
  • 1½ teaspoons french mustard
  • 250 grams macaroni (cooked and drained)
  • 2 teaspoons butter (extra)
  • 125 millilitres breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 500 millilitres plain yoghurt
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 500 millilitres cheese (grated)
  • 2 tablespoons onions (grated)
  • 1½ teaspoons french mustard
  • 9 ounces macaroni (cooked and drained)
  • 2 teaspoons butter (extra)
  • 4⅖ fluid ounces breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 17½ fluid ounces plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 17½ fluid ounces cheese (grated)
  • 2 tablespoons onions (grated)

Method

  • Melt 3 tbsp of butter in a sauce pan and cool.
  • Mix flour and yougurt together and add to the butter. Season with salt and pepper and stir over a low heat until thick
  • Add cheese, onion and mustard and cook until the cheese melts
  • Fold in macaroni and pour into a buttered casserole dish Melt 2 teaspoon butter and stir in breadcrumbs until covered with butter.
  • Sprinkle on top of the macaroni and bake for 10 minutes at 180C
