APPLE AND STRAWBERRY CRUMBLE

A smooth and creamy topping with a very sweet and tasty base.

Ingredients

  • Vegetarian

TOPPING:

  • 25g brown sugar
  • 65g butter
  • 100g (eg)- oats, whole meal, plain etc

BASE:

  • 1 cooking apple peeled, cored and chopped
  • 2tbsp water
  • 200g strawberries
  • 50g golden granulated sugar

Method

  1. To make the crumble topping place your flour in a bowl rub in the butter to resemble breadcrumbs and stir in the sugar.
  2. Place the chopped apple and water in a pan and cool over very low heat until they begin to soften. Add the strawberries and sugar and cook for further 3-4 minutes. Spoon into an oven proof dish and cover with the crumble topping. Bake in a pre heated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden. Delicious served hot with custard or cream.
  3. Oven temperature: 190 degrees C/375 Gas mark 5
