Baked Pasta With Mushrooms

Introduction

Ingredients

Serves: 4

Metric Cups
  • 500 grams penne pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 500 grams mushrooms (mixed, sliced thinly)
  • 750 grams tomato-based pasta sauce
  • 500 millilitres mozzarella ( more if you like it really cheesy)
  • 17⅔ ounces penne pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 17⅔ ounces mushrooms (mixed, sliced thinly)
  • 26½ ounces tomato-based pasta sauce
  • 18 fluid ounces mozzarella ( more if you like it really cheesy)

Method

Baked Pasta With Mushrooms is a community recipe submitted by Coby and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Preheat oven to moderate (180 - 190 degrees C)
  • Oil a deep three litre (12 cup) ovenproof dish.
  • Cook pasta in large saucepan of boiling water, uncovered until just tender. Drain.
  • Heat oil in large frying pan, cook mushrooms, stirring, until tender and browned lightly. If using both robust and delicate mushrooms, cook the more robust for a few minutes before adding the more delicate.
  • Place half the pasta over base of prepared dish. Top with half the pasta sauce and half the mushrooms and cheese.
  • Repeat layers with remaining pasta, pasta sauce, mushrooms and cheese.
  • Bake uncovered, in moderate oven for about twenty five minutes or until browned lightly and heated through.
