What does this mean?

On request. The sweet and sticky spareribs. Totally inspired on Nigella's ham in Coke. The boiling makes them really tender and make them fall of the bone, so to speak.

Ingredients

Switch to Cup Measures
  • 1 kilogram pork spare ribs
  • 1 bottle Coca-Cola
  • 250 ml tomato ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Tabasco
  • cayenne pepper
  • salt (to taste)

Method

  1. Put the ribs in a pan and cover them with cola. Bring up to the boil and cook for an half hour.
  2. Then take out the ribs and reduce the cola until it's like a sirope.
  3. Add all the other ingredients (or other if your want) and leave it to cool a bit (it'll thicken some more now).
  4. Heat the oven (200 C) and put the ribs on a baking tray.
  5. Poor the marinade over the ribs and grill them for about an hour.
  6. Baste the ribs every now and them with the marinade in the baking tray.
  7. Serve with whatever you want and lots of napkins.
