Introduction

These are my family's favorite cookies. My husband just adores these cookies and now, my three year old daughter is a fan of these. For her, I cut these cookies with numbers and alphabets cookie cutters and make her learn them. She enjoys both eating and learning.

  • Preheat the oven to 180 c.
  • Mix and sift flour, baking powder, sugar and custard powder in a large bowl.
  • Add butter cubes and mix it in the flour with your fingertips. (I use my free standing mixer), till it resembles like bread crumbs.
  • Gradually, add just enough milk to bring the dough together, a teaspoon at a time. You don’t have to knead the dough.
  • Now, lay the dough on a lightly floured surface and very gently bring it together to form a ball.
  • Roll out the dough and cut it with the cutters of desired shapes.
  • Lay them on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Let them cool in the baking tray for 5 minutes, and then transfer to the cooling rack.
