Ingredients
Switch to Cup MeasuresFor the cake
- 4 medium eggs
- 250 ml sugar
- 250 ml vegetable oil
- 500 grams semolina
- vanilla essence
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 250 ml brandy
For the for syrup
- 625 ml sugar
- 500 ml water
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 3 cloves
Method
- Mix ingredients for cake, place in an oblong baking pan , place blanched almonds on top in rows (so there will be 1 on each piece) 180c for 45 - 60 mins
- While cake is cooking place syrup ingredients in a pan and simmer for approx 10 mins.
- When cake has cooled for 15 mins pour syrup over and let it absorb!! yum yum!
