This recipe is taken from my Mum's old school textbook; "The young homemaker" by Angela Creese. A very easy, simple recipe with ingrediants that are always to hand and a taste that is sure to please. This recipe is easily doubled.

As a complete novice to baking, the thought of producing home made shortbread was daunting to say the least however, this recipe did exactly what it said on the tin, it was so straightforward and the shortbread tastes fantastic!

I tried this recipe first with the recommended amount of flour but found the biscuits to be rather tasteless, soft and floury. Simply reducing the flour to 125g instantly made a big difference.

Perfect! Managed this with my wriggly baby under my arm! Baby is now asleep and I am eating them with a nice cup of tea. :-)
