Ingredients
Switch to Cup Measures- 4 medium eggs
- 250 grams sugar
- 250 grams ground almonds
- 250 grams ground hazelnuts
- 250 grams candied lemon peel (chopped into small pieces)
- 200 grams candied orange peel
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (grated)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 lemon (grated)
- 1 sprinkling of icing sugar (for glaze)
- 1 splash of lemon juice (for glaze)
Method
- Beat eggs and sugar until frothy. then stir in the rest of the ingredients.
- Spread fairly thickly onto oblaten bases.(these are sold in packets in Europe, made of rice flour I think)
- Smooth over the top as much as possible. B
- ake at 150degrees for 25 - 30 mins. Glaze with lemon icing (fairly runny). Chocolate icing is another option.
