What does this mean?

Used for mixing drinks (champagne or white wine) or can be drizzled over freshly baked Gingerbread or vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 ½ teaspoons ground ginger (or fresh ginger)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

  1. Combine the ingredients in a saucepan - boil.
  2. Reduce the heat and simmer for approx. 15 mins.
  3. Cover the saucepan and leave to cool.

Makes 7 drinks. You could add some fresh ginger root and use less ground ginger.

Drizzle the syrup over freshly baked Gingerbread.
