Ingredients

Switch to Cup Measures
  • 125 grams unsalted butter
  • 250 ml caster sugar (use a measuring jug)
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ orange (zest of)
  • 50 ml orange juice
  • 250 ml plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Method

  1. Whip butter and sugar together, add the eggs (preferable one by one), the juice and zest, and then the flour and baking powder. Amount fits a 1,5 litre loaf tin.
  2. 175 degrees Celsius 340 F), bottom shelf in oven, about 50 minutes.

  • I added 2 tbsp of orange marmalade. That gave an extra tanginess to the loaf.
