Shallots in Oyster Sauce

Introduction

This dip is a simple dip to make and it goes well with stir fry noodles , fried rice and if you are having a BBQ this dip should to it . I got this recipe from a friend.

Ingredients

Serves: 4-6

  • 10 small shallots
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • 3 tablespoons water (warm)
  • 2 red chillies (or bird's eye chillies)

Method

  • Peel, wash and cut shallots into bite sizes. Do not slice them - set aside.
  • Slice red / bird eye chilli thinly - set aside.
  • Then in a small bowl combine oyster sauce, warm water and sugar - mix well.
  • Take the shallots and chillies and add them together with the oyster sauce.
  • Allow it to rest for a few minutes.
  • Once your stir fry is ready, eat it together with the dip.
