My kids' favourite!!! Simple but yet delicious and tempted especially to cheese lovers :)

Ingredients

Serves: 6

Metric Cups

For the Base

  • 30 savoiardi biscuits (or sponge fingers)

For the Cream

  • 250 grams mascarpone cheese (or cream cheese)
  • 200 millilitres whipping cream
  • 250 millilitres sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

For the Syrup

  • 150 millilitres milk
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon coffee (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • cocoa powder (for dusting)

For the Base

  • 30 savoiardi cookies (or sponge fingers)

For the Cream

  • 8⅚ ounces mascarpone cheese (or cream cheese)
  • 7 fluid ounces heavy cream
  • 9 fluid ounces sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

For the Syrup

  • 5 fluid ounces milk
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 tablespoon coffee (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • unsweetened cocoa (for dusting)

Method

Simple Tiramisu is a community recipe submitted by Alma and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

Cream:

  • Beat mascarpone/cream cheese with 1/2cup of sugar till creamy.
  • In another bowl, beat whipping cream with 1/2cup of sugar till stiff. Then pour it into mascarpone bowl.
  • Add vanilla essence and mix them till combined. Syrup: Mix well all ingredients in a bowl.
  • Prepare a 8x8in or 9x9in dish or rectangular dish.
  • Dip the biscuits in the syrup, one by one and place them in the dish (how to arrange them is up to you!).
  • Dust some cocoa powder on top of the biscuits, then pour 1/2 of the cream on the biscuits.
  • For 2nd layer, repeat step 2 & 3, finish up all the balance of the cream.
  • Dusting as much cocoa powder as you like on the 2nd layer!.
  • Refrigerated overnight.
